Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup // It Takes Two


I don’t have much to say today, because (Drumroll please!) I made a video where I’m actually talking about the game I’m cooking for. This was one of those things I wanted to try for quite some and I’m really curious what you think of it.


Without further ado, feast your eyes on It Takes Two and my newest recipe. This game is co-op, cosy and crazy good! So I thought to myself: What would fit better than the ultimate comfort food duo: Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup?


 

150g Cheddar Cheese

500ml Pureed Tomatoes

2 Garlic Cloves

60g Mayonnaise

40g Butter

300g Raw Sausage

Handful of Basil

3g Chilli Flakes

30g Sour Cream

6 Slices of Toast

100ml Water

Salt

Pepper

  • peel and cut 2 cloves of garlic

  • place a saucepan on medium heat

  • melt 10g butter in it

  • add the garlic and roast it until it browns slightly

  • add the pureed tomatoes and the water and bring it to a boil

  • season with salt, pepper, chilli flakes and stir well

  • pull off small balls from the raw sausage and add them to the soup

  • chop the basil and add it to the soup

  • add the sour cream and stir

  • let the soup simmer while you prepare the grilled cheese

  • grate the cheddar

  • place two slices of toast in front of you

  • spread 5g of soft butter on both slices

  • layer a third of the cheese on one of the slices

  • close the sandwich with the butter side towards the cheese

  • spread 10g mayonnaise on top of the toast

  • heat a pan on medium heat

  • put the sandwich into the pan, mayo facing down

  • spread 10g mayonnaise on top of the toast

  • flip the toast when the bottom is golden brown

  • continue to fry the sandwich until the second side crisps up as well

  • repeat the steps for the other two cheese toasts

  • halve the toasts diagonally and pour the soup into bowls

  • Guten Hunger!
